Capoliveri

The beginning of fall, in Elba Island, is marked by intense smells of the must and by the golden colours of vine leaves: it is the time of the Festival of Grapes in Capoliveri. This year the event takes place on October 5 to 7.

In keeping with tradition, the town of Capoliveri will prepare many initiatives for three exciting days of feast, games and fun for families. A place of honour is reserved, of course, to the sweet nectar of Bacchus, but there will be time also for tastings and purchases of other local products.

The festival, one of the most anticipated in the whole Elba Island, involves thousands of people in celebrating the ancient harvest, its traditions the authentic flavours of this land. As every year, the four districts of Capoliveri will compete in different challenges and games, taking part also in suggestive historical re-enactments. On Sunday, in late afternoon, after three days of fun, the most appreciated scenography representing the farming traditions will be awarded.
